Have you Heard
So I can’t be the only one who’s heard the rumor about going bald when following the keto diet right? It’s literally being talked about everywhere from youtube, to the news, to local blogs and more. We are mainly hearing this from the haters, naysayers or whatever you want to call people who are so against the keto diet.
Well guess what? Being on a keto diet will not cause you to lose your hair. You know what does cause your hair to fall out? Things like stress which is the number one cause. I don’t know about you but when I first started keto I was stressed. I mean think about it. Most of us have tried everything to lose weight with little to no success. Trying to make changes, not happy with the current look. All of these things cause stress. This compounded with everything going on in your life.
Also with big weight loss comes something called Telogen Effluvium. Telogen effluvium is a form of temporary hair loss that usually happens after stress, a shock, or a traumatic event such as weight loss. It usually occurs on the top of the scalp. This is all temporary and nothing new. Your hair will grow back. Don’t take my word for it. Just take sometime to google weightloss or surgeries with hair loss.
So why are we hearing this rumor and other negative feed back about the ketogenic diet? Well the big food companies definitely aren’t happy at all. When following a keto diet you yes lose weight but you also start to eat a lot less. Being on keto also has less ingredients and more whole foods. Which means you are buying less and less packaged goods.
